IMF Chief arrives Nigeria




Christine Lagarde, MD of the International Monetary Fund, IMF, yesterday arrived Nigeria on a four-day working visit that will see her hold talks with President Muhammadu Buhari, policy makers and other stakeholders on the possible ways IMF can partner with the nation in order to improve its economy.

Lagarde upon her arrival at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 3pm on Monday was received by Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, and the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mr. Godwin Emefiele.

IMF boss while speaking on the purpose of her visit said, “The visit to Nigeria will provide an opportunity to strengthen the fund’s partnership with the largest economy in sub-Saharan Africa.”
