The Nigerian Copyright Commission
(NCC) has appointed Mr Obi Ezeilo as its new Zonal Manager to oversee its Lagos
Operations.
This is contained in a statement
signed by Mrs Victoria Oakhena, the Senior Copyright Officer of the Commission,
and made available to then News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Lagos.
The statement said that Ezeilo had
been appointed as the Lagos Zonal Manager since Dec. 29, 2015 but only assumed
office officially on Jan. 4.
The statement said that Ezeilo,
before his current appointment, was the former Head of Prosecution Department
of the commission, in Lagos office.
Ezeilo, a lawyer by profession had
worked in the Enforcement and Legal Department of the commission before now, it
said.
It was reported that he promise to
improve the welfare of his staff, increase human resources capacity and pursue
the commission’s mandate aggressively as part of his plan of actions.
The statement quoted him as promising
to strengthen the working relationship between his organisation, the media and
the various security agencies to achieve the commission stated goals and
objectives.
It urged the Federal Government to
adequately fund the Commission to be able to discharge its mandate effectively,
NAN Reports.
