At
least one man died when a car carrying an explosive device exploded Tuesday
morning in Berlin, city police spokesman Stefan Petersen said.
The
blast occurred around 8 a.m. (3 a.m. ET) in Charlottenburg, a district in
western Berlin.
Authorities
have not identified the man who died.
Debris
littered the street around the four-door car, according to a picture tweeted by
Berlin police Tuesday morning.
The
vehicle's front end appeared badly damaged and its windows -- including the
front windshield -- were blasted out.
