Britain's most multi-cultural high street that has 23 shopkeepers from different countries

Researchers have now officially named it the most diverse street in the UK after discovering the owners of its 222 shop units come from 23 different countries.
Business owners on Narborough Road in Leicester hail from four continents including countries such as Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. There are Eastern European delis, a fish and chip shop boss from Hong King and a book shop run by a Canadian couple. Shopkeepers include (clockwise from top right) clothes shop owner Cecilia Munikwa, from Zimbabwe, Turkish cafe boss Ufuk Gundogdu, Polish delicatessen owner Michal Szudzik, Kenyan-born tobacconist Tajinder Reehal, butcher Razzaq Mohammad, from Pakistan, and half-Polish Alex Wright, who runs a music shop.

Ms Reehal said: 'I've seen the different nationalities come and go, too.  Lots of Polish and eastern Europeans now, but before that, it seemed to be mainly Turkish and Spanish. I like it. It gives the area its identity.' But Dr Suzanne Hall added: 'Narborough Road is a story of success... but it is not a utopia. It is not without its problems.'
